JOHANNESBURG - A request for a speedier removal of Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, is before members of Parliament.
The portfolio committee on Justice and Correctional Services is expected to consider a draft report on the request.
This stems from a 2017 ruling by the High Court in Pretoria.
It found she grossly over-reached her powers when she recommended constitutional amendments to alter the mandate of the Reserve Bank.
Mkhwebane had given an opinion on allegations of maladministration, corruption, misappropriation of public funds, and failure by the government to recover public funds from Absa.
