RUSTENBURG - A Rustenburg father has waited almost a decade for justice for his murdered daughter.

Gerhardus Jansen van Vuuren (39) was charged with stabbing his ex-girlfriend Andrea Venter to death in Johannesburg in May 2011. 

He skipped the country in 2013 while out on bail and fled to Brazil.

Jansen van Vuuren was arrested by Brazil’s Federal Police last month and faces extradition back home.

Dries Venter is hoping the man accused of brutally murdering his daughter will finally be extradited from Brazil in mid-August to face a reckoning.

"He didn’t have the guts to stand trial and he just fled the country,” an emotional Venter said.

“I just want to see him there and give him a paper that I’ve written. So I can get into his mind and tell him what’s cooking.

"I want to look him in his eyes. I don’t want to hit him. There’s no need.”
