SA behind the curve on gender wage equality

Associate Professor in Organisational Behaviour and Leadership at the University of Stellenbosch Business School, Anita Bosch says addressing the pay gap between men and women is an important step towards income justice for South African women.

The 2018 World Economic Forum Global Gender Report ranks South Africa’s gender equality 19th out of 149 countries.

But when it comes to wage equality for similar work, the ranking plunges to 117th.

Anita Bosch, Associate Professor at Stellenbosch Business School, says companies should start being more transparent about their gender representation.
