SA Lockdown | Calls to scrap COVID-19 regulations

JOHANNESBURG - The country’s current COVID-19 regulations and policy objectives are unclear and not consistent, that’s according to UKZN’s Research and Innovation Vice-Chancellor Professor Mosa Moshabela.

Moshabela says the government needs to clarify whether the regulations are there to prevent the spread of the virus or are for protecting people from severe illness, hospitalisation, and death.

There have been growing calls for the government to lift COVID-19 regulations like the wearing of masks.

Meanwhile, President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to address the nation on the COVID-19 response at 8pm on Tuesday.
