JOHANNESBURG - All commuter rail services will not be available during the lockdown period.

This includes all Metrorail and Gautrain services.

South Africa will be on lockdown beginning Thursday midnight in a bid to fight the spread of the coronavirus.

Provision has only been made for essential transport services including transport for essential staff and for patients who need to be managed elsewhere.
