SA lockdown: Sale of cigarettes, alcohol still prohibited

JOHANNESBURG - South Africans will be not be allowed to buy tobacco products under level 4 lockdown.

The sale of alcohol and e-cigarettes is also still prohibited.

Minister of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma announced changes to regulations as the country moves into eased lockdown regulations from Friday, 1 May.

Dlamini-Zuma has also encouraged South Africans to continue to stay at home to help flatten the curve.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa has risen to 5,350 with the death toll increasing to 103.
