JOHANNESBURG - The Western Cape says it's ready to start selling alcohol again.
Premier Alan Winde says the booze ban must be lifted urgently to avoid a jobs bloodbath.
Winde says having passed the peak of infections there are enough beds to deal with alcohol-related trauma and COVID-19 patients.
Government banned booze sales saying alcohol-related trauma will overwhelm the healthcare system.
Winde says the negative impact of the ban is far worse than its benefits.
The industry says the ban has hurt many businesses and it's had to retrench workers.
