JOHANNESBURG - Active COVID-19 cases continue to drop in the country.
There are now just over 33,000 active cases, down from over 34,000 on Saturday.
South Africa recorded 1,447 new cases and 157 deaths.
The death toll in the country is approaching the 50,000 mark.
The recovery rate stands at 94 percent and 67,303 vaccines have been administered.
