JOHANNESBURG - There are just under 989 new COVID-19 cases.
Sadly, one person has died in the past 48 hours.
The cumulative number of deaths in South Africa now stands at almost 100,000 people.
Gauteng has the most new cases at present at 362, followed by the Western Cape with 286 and then KwaZulu-Natal with 199.
The positivity rate stands at 5.9 percent and 16,849 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
