SAA suspends all domestic flights

JOHANNESBURG - South African Airways has suspended all domestic flights.

SAA says this move is in support of the national 21-day lockdown to fight coronavirus.

The suspension will be in effect from Friday, 27 March until 16 April 2020.

The lockdown was announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday as a measure to combat the spread of COVID-19.

South Africa has 554 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Government is expecting that number to rise.
