Trade union Saftu detailed which four of its senior office bearers have been suspended. Earlier this month, its Secretary General Zwelinzima Vavi was being probed for misconduct. #DStv403
JOHANNESBURG - The South African Federation of Trade Unions has suspended four of its senior office bearers effective Saturday.
It says this is for their role in seeking to illegally suspend Secretary General Zwelinzima Vavi.
Saftu says the four abused their power and brought the union into disrepute.
Vavi was accused of financial and administrative violations in a letter issued by the union's president over a week ago.
He was asked to submit an explanation on why he should not be suspended.
But Saftu says that was unconstitutional.
