Saftu has no confidence in job summit

JOHANNESBURG - Trade union federation South African Federation of Trade Unions (Saftu) isn't convinced that government's upcoming job summit will offer tangible solutions to joblessness in the country.

The summit kicks off on Thursday.

The unemployment rate is sitting at just over 27 percent.

“We believe that Government and businesses offer no solution. They're part of the problem rather than being a solution," said Saftu spokesperson Patrick Craven.

"That's why we aren't confident this job summit will come up with real solutions...it will spiral downwards."
