SAHRC takes BLF to court

JOHANNESBURG - The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) will lay criminal charges against members of Black First Land First (BLF).

This follows violence at the commission's offices in Braamfontein.

The BLF were at the commission's offices to engage in mediation efforts between the two organisations.

The commission says members of the organisation began hurling insults at its CEO.

It says some staff members were pushed and assaulted during the incident.

The BLF is accusing the commission of trying to ban their movement and trying to stop them from contesting the 2019 elections.
