JOHANNESBURG - The South African Human Rights Commission is taking EFF leader Julius Malema to the Equality Court.
The organisation stated Malema has made racially divisive utterances.
In his tribute to Former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, Malema tweeted quotes by the late former President, some deemed offensive.
The commission has labelled the tweets as hate speech, saying it goes against the non-racist values of South Africa's constitutional democracy.
It's also expressed concern about the EFF's ban on certain media houses.
The commission says it will investigate possible violations of the right to freedom of speech.
