COVID-19 in SA: SAMHS called in to help in Gauteng

JOHANNESBURG - Army medics will be used to bolster Gauteng's COVID-19 fighting capability.

It is hoped the force multipliers will help frontline workers deal with overburdened facilities.

The province is currently the epicentre of the outbreak.

On Sunday, the country recorded 13,155 new infections, with 8,640 of these in Gauteng.
