The EFF's march to the offices of the SA Health Product Regulatory Authority has been described as a super spreader event. The march has been criticised as it took place during the third wave of the pandemic where gatherings have been sharply limited to prevent rising infections. eNCA's Faith Mangope speaks to SAHPRA CEO – Dr Boitumelo Semete-Makokotlela. JOHANNESBURG - The South African Health Product Regulatory Authority says Russia's Sputnik and Chinese Sinovac vaccines don't meet the requirements to be authorised in the country.
The regulator says it's concerned about the efficacy of these vaccines against the Delta variant.
SAHPRA says that it must be completely satisfied with each vaccine before it can be approved for use.
