SAPS to march against gender-based violence

JOHANNESBURG - The men of the South African Police Service are mobilising in Pretoria to march against gender-based violence as well as violence against children and other vulnerable groups.

The march will be led by Police Minister Bheki Cele and is aimed at raising awareness and also urging society to get more involved in reporting gender-based crimes within their communities.

The march comes in the wake of multiple murders of women in South Africa in the past few months.

The SAPS says the campaign will draw at least 1500 male police officers.
