JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng ANC PEC member Lebogang Maile is calling for heads to roll at Eskom.

Maile says Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter, the board, and the Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan must be held to account.

He says the governing party's NEC must take a firm stand on this.

"The incompetence of Eskom is scary, very disappointing and I think that the leadership of the country is not acting decisively enough to get to the bottom of the problem," he said.

"I think we are very understanding and we are treating Eskom with kids gloves and I think heads must roll."
