JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa says he'll announce government's interventions around the continued blackouts soon.

The president says he’s been consulting a number of stakeholders to find an amicable solution to the crisis.

He says the energy crisis has been caused by several factors and missed opportunities.

"The energy crisis, we continue to address it. I’ve had meetings with executives, and management at various stakeholders. Those meetings are ongoing and at the right time, we will say something," Ramaphosa said.

"The crisis has been caused by a number of factors and we can't just pinpoint one. There were missed opportunities and we are going to address that.

"Soon we will address the full spectrum. I’m going to be meeting a whole lot of organisaions so we can bring about an understanding of how we can move forward," the president said.

"Work has to be done and we need to do it as comprehensively as we possibly can."
