Sassa started paying out childcare grants across the country on Monday, but technical glitches left many recipients unpaid.

Sassa in KZN is already preparing for the rollout of the special unemployment grant on 15 May.

The Labour Department estimates around 4.6 million people could apply for the R350 social relief grant.

This is the number of job seekers it has registered on its database and the number it has handed to social development which is responsible for the payouts.
