PRETORIA - Basic Educations and Training Minister, Angie Motshekga, says schools will remain open.
She was speaking at a media briefing on Saturday.
She says that COVID-19 cases will be handled according to the differentiated risk adjustment strategy.
Motshekga has announced that all teachers, regardless of age, will be vaccinated. The vaccine rollout will begin on 23 June and run until schools close on 8 July.
The minister says this will hopefully normalise schooling.
Teachers need not register for the vaccine as all details have been uploaded in bulk onto the EVDS system. Staff will only need to provide their identity documents and contact information.
