JOHANNESBURG - Seven suspects have been charged with multiple counts of rape, robbery with aggravated circumstances and being in the country illegally.
They appeared in court on Wednesday over the Krugersdorp rape incident.
This come just days after eight women were gang-raped while filming a music video in the area.
The rape sparked violent protests in the West Rand.
Residents of Rietvallei, Munsieville and Bekkersdal also joined the protests, calling for zama zamas to be removed from their areas.
They accuse them of terrorising the community.
