JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng Education Department has appointed a legal firm to investigate allegations of sexual misconduct against teachers and the principal at Vaal High School in Vanderbijlpark.
The claims surfaced on social media last month.
All the accused will continue working at the school during the investigation.
Gauteng Education Department spokesperson Steve Mabona said a law firm has been appointed to investigate.
"They will visit the school and interact with all the stakeholders. As soon as they're done with their investigation they will then present their report with the recommendations and we'll be in a position to then implement the recommendations," Mabona said.
"We must say we are monitoring this very closely as these are very serious allegations that need to be investigated."
