Shots fired at Amathole councillor's home

Amathole District Municipality councillor Nanziwe Rulash, who was captured on video being dragged along the floors of the municipal offices, has seemingly been targeted yet again. A Gunman reportedly opened fire on her home at around two o'clock this morning in the suburb of Baysville in East London. Eastern Cape Police Spokesperson Tembinkosi Kinana, speaks more on this. JOHANNESBURG - Shots have been fired at the home of Nanziwe Rulashe a senior ANC Amathole district municipality councillor and mayoral committee member.

Rulashe made headlines when a video emerged of her being dragged out of the district's head offices in the Eastern Cape and assaulted.

Political violence has come into sharp focus in recent weeks.

On Saturday, a funeral was held for eThekwini ANC councillor Minenhle Mkhize who was gunned down last week and, in another incident, IFP National Council member and Speaker of the AmaJuba District Municipality, Reginald Bhekumndeni Ndima was shot and killed in Newcastle.
