TSHWANE - The South African Human Rights Commission will be visiting the Mamelodi Hospital on Tuesday.
The visit follows an incident where a 76-year-old patient was tied to a bench in the hospital's waiting area.
A video of the incident went viral, sparking outrage and prompting an investigation.
The commission says there have been several complaints of ill-treatment of patients by medical staff.
A preliminary report into the incident shows standard operating restraint procedures weren't followed.
Four hospital officials including two doctors have been placed on special leave.
