Situation calm in Zimbabwe following violent protests

HARARE - Calm has been restored in Zimbabwe on Tuesday morning, following violent protests on Monday over fuel price hikes.

Several people have reportedly been killed, but exact numbers have not been confirmed.

Hundreds of others were also arrested during the protests.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa announced the shock price hikes for petrol and diesel on Saturday.

Mnangagwa is in Russia on international visit.
