Snow falls in the Cape

Heavy storms have been lashing Cape Town in recent days. Dramatic images of nature at its most powerful - crashing waves, trees uprooted, flooding in some areas. CAPE TOWN - A day after a severe storm battered Cape Town, it's also brought snow to high-lying areas.

Residents in the Cape Province shared pictures of snow covering mountains and towns in the Karoo.

Snow was also reported in Bloemfontein.

The South African Weather Service has warned of severe frost as far north as Mpumalanga on Wednesday and Thursday morning.
