South Africans join in mourning NZ terror victims

St George's Cathedral in Cape Town will have a candle lighting service for the victims of the New Zealand mosque shootings this evening.

CAPE TOWN - People from different religious backgrounds gathered at the St George's Cathedral in Cape Town to remember the victims of the Christchurch Mosque terror attacks.

The world continues to mourn the 50 people shot on Friday.

Shaykh Sa'dullah Khan, CEO of the Islamia College said the fact that the shooter is not named a terrorist is unfortunate.

“Extremism is not the norm, we must normalise the abnormal, unfortunately, the narrative is always written by the conqueror,” said Sa'dullah Khan.
