JOHANNESBURG - Soweto residents have had it with the high cost of electricity.

They are rallying together and taking to the streets of Soweto to march against rates and pre-paid electricity meters.

Eskom has been cutting power to thousands of Soweto residents.

The area owes the utility billions.

Meanwhile, Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter has told Parliament that the power utility is being more aggressive in collecting debt from municipalities.

Eskom is owed billions of rand by defaulting municipalities.
