South Africa's COVID-19 death toll surpasses 15,000 mark

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa's COVID-19 death toll has surpassed the 15,000 mark.

The country recorded 115 more fatalities bringing the number of confirmed coronavirus-related deaths to 15,004.

Most of the latest deaths are from Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal.

The number of confirmed cases increased to 639,362.

Over 850 new infections have been reported in the last 24 hours.

The recovery rate has increased to 88.6-percent with 566,555 people having recovered from the virus.
