One culpable homicide charge against Duduzane Zuma dropped

JOHANNESBURG - The state has announced that it will be dropping one of the two culpable homicide charges against former president Jacob Zuma's son Duduzane. 

The younger Zuma was initially charged with two counts of culpable homicide, for the deaths of Phumzile Dube and Nanki Mashaba.

In 2014, his Porsche slammed into a minibus taxi on the M1 highway.

Phumzile Dube died instantly, while Nanki Mashaba died in hospital some weeks later.

The state says it's withdrawn the charge relating to Mashaba because she had a pre-existing condition. 

Zuma has pleaded not guilty to the remaining charge of culpable homicide and negligent driving
