Tourism Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane, will host a virtual media briefing on Tourism related activities under Risk-Adjusted level 3, update on Tourism Relief Fund and Relief fund for Tourist Guides.
JOHANNESBURG - Tourism Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane gave an update on activities in the tourism sector under Risk-Adjusted Level 3 on Thursday and announced intra-provincial leisure travel will be allowed.

Kubayi-Ngubane said the impact of the coronavirus on the tourism sector is devastating, putting many businesses and jobs at risk.
She stated the Department would be engaging with the Department of Health to help guide the sector on how to safely reopen.
The sector was allocated R200-million for relief which assisted 4,000 companies in various provinces. 3000 companies did not qualify for financial relief.
Cabinet has agreed to move the curfew to start at 10 pm to allow for uninterrupted dinner service at restaurants but the sale of alcohol remains prohibited the minister announced.
Intra- provincial travel for leisure is allowed under the current regulations. Inter-provincial travel is still prohibited.
