Supra Mahumapelo withdraws from ANC NW conference

JOHANNESBURG - More squabbles are coming out of the ANC North West elective conference.

The party's former Provincial Chairperson, Supra Mahumapelo wants the conference invalidated.

Mahumapelo and his supporters have launched a court application to have the proceedings nullified.

He's withdrawn from the Chairperson race, claiming compromised credentials, among other issues.

On Friday, some disgruntled ANC members launched an urgent court bid, which saw the interim provincial committee excluded from voting at the conference.

Mahumapelo’s withdrawal leaves Bushy Maape and Nono Maloyi as the two candidates contesting the provincial chairperson position.

Political analyst Ebrahim Harvey says Mahumapelo has a strong case.
