Survivors: COVID-19 vaccine saved us

JOHANNESBURG - More than four million people have lost their lives to the coronavirus and every day, the numbers continue to mount.  

Those who were lucky enough to survive the virus after being vaccinated believe they've been given a second chance at life.

Hamid Cassim contracted COVID-19 in June. As a diabetic with high blood pressure, he stood a slim chance of survival.

“My advice is, go for the jab. It’ll help you in the long run,” he said.

Sally Young also beat COVID-19 after being vaccinated.    

“I’m 100% now, I’m back to starting running again and so yeah, I would like to think it did help,” she said.
