Teachers to receive COVID-19 vaccine from Wednesday

Teachers are next in line to receive the COVID-19 jab. The Health Department says a special Electronic Vaccination Data System will be dedicated to the sector. JOHANNESBURG - More than half a million teachers and school staff are next in line to get vaccinated.

300,000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine arrived in the country on Friday with more doses expected soon.

The process is expected to begin on Wednesday across the country.

Teachers have been urged to attend school to ensure a successful rollout plan.

All school staff will qualify for the jabs and not just those aged 40 and above.
