The Cape Town Trauma Centre says after the provincial government refused to convene a judicial commission of inquiry into child safety, it decided to hold its own.

More than a thousand children testified using art-based therapy.

The most vulnerable victims include young girls and boys, undocumented refugee children and children with physical disabilities.
