JOHANNESBURG - Federal Chairperson of the Democratic Alliance Athol Trollip has announced his resignation from the position.
Trollip's resignation follows that of Mmusi Maimane who announced his resignation a few minutes earlier.
In his resignation speech to the media, Trollip cited that said he is taking full responsibility for the party's poor showing in the 2019 general election.
The duo's resignation follows the departure of James Selfe as Federal Council Chairperson and Paul Boughey as party CEO.
On Monday, Herman Mashaba also announced that he will be stepping down as Joburg Mayor.
