Two children drown in Port Elizabeth

The Police diving unit is urging parents to ensure their children's safety when going to beaches and dams.

JOHANNESBURG - Two children have drowned in separate incidents in Port Elizabeth. 

The Police diving unit is urging parents to ensure their children's safety when going to beaches and dams. 

The 12-year-old boy went missing while swimming in a dam at NU 12 in Motherwell.

In a separate incident, the body of a 16-year-old was retrieved from a dam in Walmer. 

The bodies were recovered by the SAPS Diving Unit and the PE K9 Search and rescue team.  

Police are investigating the cause of these drownings.
