CALEDON - Residents of Caledon in the Western Cape say they woke up to a cloud of teargas following violent protests on Thursday.
There was a heavy police presence in the area on Friday after two people were killed and one wounded during the protest.
Demonstrators took to the streets, demanding service delivery.
Two protesters were shot and killed in the process.
It's not yet clear who fired the shots.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate is investigating the matter.
Residents have handed over a memorandum to municipal officials and have given them seven days to respond.
