COVID-19: Tygerberg Hospital workers test positive

CAPE TOWN - About 150 health care workers have tested positive for COVID-19 at the Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town.

Authorities say those affected came from various parts of the hospital.

Earlier this week, a worker at the Trauma and Emergency Department became the second health care worker at the hospital to die after contracting COVID-19.

The Groote Schuur Hospital in the province has seven wards with over 120 COVID-19 patients.

While the Mitchells Plain Hospital is said to have reached its capacity.

The Western Cape currently has the highest number of coronavirus infections and deaths in the country.
