CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police are probing a spate of robberies of Uber and Taxify drivers in Cape Town.

Two women believed to be linked to several robberies of Taxify and Uber vehicles, were arrested last weekend.

Meanwhile, a Taxify driver, who was stabbed to death in the area, has since been laid to rest.

eNCA spoke to a Taxify driver who wants to remain anonymous.

He says he never knows what to expect when he arrives for a pickup because he almost lost his life.

Six men -- four of them armed -- had driven him to withdraw all his money while stealing belongings.

“I was very scared, up to a point where I stopped feeling scared," he said.

One of the women has appeared in the Athlone magistrate’s court and has been remanded to Pollsmoor prison.

A 26-year-old woman is still being investigated by the police and is yet to be charged.
