File: Trade unions lock horns with business rescue practitioners in court. They're arguing that SAA's envisaged job cuts are unlawful.
JOHANNESBURG - Trade unions Numsa and the SA Cabin Crew Association have approached the courts to stop retrenchments at SAA.
They want the Labour Court to compel business rescue practitioners to come up with alternative solutions.
The unions say while they understand retrenchments are inevitable, they want proper processes to be followed.
They say processes outlined in the Labour Relation Act have been flouted.
The unions also want those affected to be offered training opportunities.
