JOHANNESBURG - Student leaders at the University of South Africa will continue with their planned shutdown.

How long the shutdown will continue will depend on how things go when the SRC meets with university management and the Higher Education Department.

Student representatives say the university and finance organisations have not made provisions for book and laptop allowances, making it difficult for students to succeed at their studies.

Leaders say they will not go back to class until their demands are seriously addressed.
