UPDATE: ANC councillor to spend time behind bars after bail application fails

JOHANNESBURG - The ANC councillor's bail application has been postponed to next year.

The councillor appeared for the bail application at the Umlazi Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

He was nabbed in connection with the murder of a fellow council member Sibusiso Maphumulo, who was gunned down outside his home in October this year.

Three men, Sandile Mvelase, and Nkosingiphile and Phumlani Nojiyeza - who are related to the ANC councillor in Umlazhave have already appeared in court over Maphumulo's murder.

The bail application will resume in January.
