JOHANNESBURG - Midrand residents will suffer another electricity blow after a transformer caught fire at the Allandale substation.
The substation houses both Eskom and City Power infrastructure.
But according to City Power, the transformer may belong to Eskom.
Several areas around Midrand are without power, namely Rabie Ridge, Mayibuye, Commercial Extension 9, Austin View and some parts of Glen Austin.
City Power and Eskom technicians are on site to determine the cause of the fire.
