UPDATE: Some SAA flights grounded

Several flights in and out of the country have been grounded.

JOHANNESBURG - South African Airways domestic and international flights have been cancelled.

This as Public Enterprises is still waiting for funding for the airline from Treasury.

On Monday SAA communicated that their operations are continuing as normal.

"SAA is working closely with its sister airline, Mango, to re-accommodate passengers on alternative services operated by both airlines to minimise disruption, and thereby ensure passengers reach their destination as quickly as possible."

SAA was placed under business rescue last year.

Government promised the carrier R2-billion to keep the airline in business.
