Former MP hands himself over to police

JOHANNESBURG - Ex-ANC MP Vincent Smith has handed himself over to police.

On Thursday morning, the National Prosecuting Authority started arresting those implicated in the embezzling of state funds.

The NPA said it will do all it can to retrieve the R255-million spent on the 2014 Free State Asbestos Auditing project.

Evidence presented at the state capture inquiry has indicated how prices were grossly inflated.

Several officials were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the 2014 Free State Asbestos project.
