Virgin boss apologises for SA tweet

File: Virgin boss Richard Branson has removed a tweet that landed him in hot water with some Twitter users.


JOHANNESBURG - Business tycoon and Virgin founder Richard Branson has apologised for tweeting a photo while in South Africa, which "clearly lacked diversity".

Branson was in South Africa last week to launch the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship. 

His tweet sparked criticism from some on the social media platform.

On Tuesday, Branson tweeted his apology, saying the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship is for all South Africans and urged people look at his blog, which would reflect the work done by his team.
