Vrede Dairy Farm: DA wants Mkhwebane to give names

JOHANNESBURG - The North Gauteng High Court is hearing the DA's application to set aside the Public Protector's report on the Vrede Dairy Project.

The official opposition claims Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane's report is a whitewash and that it fails to name political leaders like the ANC's Ace Magashule and Mosebenzi Zwane.

Mkhwebane's report further fails to make any findings against the Guptas or any of their businesses.

The DA argues the report has too many omissions and that it even fails to probe information that's already in the public domain.

Judge Ronel Tolmay is presiding over the matter.

The failed project saw hundreds of millions of rands meant for emerging farmers landing up in accounts belonging to Gupta associates.
