"This was no ordinary crime": whistleblower's lawyer comments on burglary

The home of State Capture whistleblower and former Sars executive Johann van Loggerenberg has been burgled. Van Loggerenberg says the sophisticated manner of entry into his home is suspicious. Van Loggerenberg's lawyer, Bernard Hotz, joins us via Zoom for more. #DStv403

JOHANNESBURG - State Capture whistleblower and former Sars executive Johann van Loggerenberg is concerned about his safety after his home was burgled.

This is just days after a break-in at another whistleblower, Themba Maseko's home.

His lawyer, Bernard Hotz says it appears the crime was well coordinated.

Hotz said, "without having definitive evidence that this was not an ordinary crime, there are four distinct indications for him that this was not an ordinary crime... My client is concerned but alright. One of the things taken was his bakkie, bicycle, laptop, Ipad, flash disks, copies of documentation which is all relevant."
